About Sliding Snowshoes
Sliding snowshoes combine the best features of skis and traditional snowshoes. Their short, ski-like design with wide synthetic skins underneath allows you to move easily across soft snow and glide gently downhill — something regular snowshoes can’t do. The universal bindings fit all types of hiking boots, so you can use your own warm, comfortable footwear.
Weekly Itinerary
Day 1: Arrival in Pyhä. Introduction to sliding snowshoes and a briefing on the week’s program.
Day 2: Excursion to Pyhälammen dayhut, partly following the scenic Pyhäjoki River. Approx. 10 km.
Day 3: Hike through the Aapasuo wetlands south of Pyhätunturi. Approx. 11 km.
Day 4: Trek to Huttutunturi via the Huttuloman wilderness hut. Approx. 10 km.
Day 5. Around Soutajatunturi fell. About 11 km.
Day 6. Keski-Luosto fell. About 10 km.
Day 7. Journey home.

Travel to the nearest train or bus station, where we will pick you up. When traveling by train and bus, you can see more of the destination country. You can easily get to this excursion by train to Rovaniemi from Helsinki and from there by bus to Pyhä.
