Jotunheimen National Park – 5-Day Guided Trek

Overview.
Jotunheimen National Park is one of Norway’s most impressive natural areas, known for its rugged mountains, alpine lakes, and glaciers. This five-day trek takes you through some of the park’s most iconic landscapes, while comfortable indoor accommodation ensures a pleasant experience throughout the journey.

The trek is suitable for participants with a good level of fitness who wish to enjoy scenic hiking days combined with comfortable overnight stays in DNT (Norwegian Trekking Association) mountain lodges. Our experienced guides ensure a safe and enjoyable hike, with regular breaks to admire the surroundings and rest.

Accommodation.
Each night, participants stay in cozy DNT mountain lodges. Accommodation is in shared rooms (typically 4–6 people). The lodges provide welcoming common areas and kitchen facilities.
A warm bed and a good meal await you at the end of each day. Showers are available in most lodges, and meals are often prepared from local ingredients.
Breakfast and dinner are served at the lodges, and a packed lunch is provided for the hiking day.

Route:
Leirvassbu – Gjendebu – Olavsbu – Skogadalsbøen – Day hike from Skogadalsbøen – Leirvassbu

Participants carry only a light daypack during the hike. Access to the starting point is simple by train and bus from Oslo.

Itinerary
Day 1
Arrival by train and bus to Leirvassbu Mountain Hotel. Dinner and group meeting in the evening.
Day 2
Hike to Gjendebu mountain lodge.
Distance: 19 km | Duration: 7–8 hours
Day 3
Hike to Olavsbu lodge.
Distance: 17 km | Duration: 7–8 hours
Day 4
Continue to Skogadalsbøen mountain station.
Distance: 19 km | Duration: 7–8 hours
Two nights are spent at Skogadalsbøen.
Day 5
Day hike from Skogadalsbøen.
Duration: 6–7 hours
Day 6
Hike back to Leirvassbu Mountain Hotel.
Distance: 20 km | Duration: 8–9 hours
Day 7
Return to Oslo by bus and train.

The trip can be reached easily by public transport. Participants can travel by train or bus to the nearest station, from where transfer to the starting point is arranged. Traveling by train and bus offers an environmentally friendly and scenic way to reach Jotunheimen.
