The municipality of Brändö consists of over a thousand islands, creating a remarkably diverse landscape: lush island groups where settlements are more common, and farther out in the outer archipelago, barren skerries and rocky cliffs. For the roughly five hundred residents living on the islands, seafaring and life at the mercy of nature have been everyday realities for centuries.
Brändö is wonderfully hidden yet easily accessible. Kayaking is a great way to explore the area while respecting nature. It allows you to travel quietly, without disturbing anyone or leaving a trace. Genuine island life, the calming atmosphere of nature, and the enchanting scenery offer the perfect opportunity to unwind and enjoy the spirit of the archipelago.
Trip details:
The price includes guiding, accommodation, and a kayak (with paddle and life jacket), as well as transportation from Helsinki to Brändö and back.
Meals are not included in the price. The cottage is equipped with a modern, well-equipped kitchen.
Excursions during the trip:
We’ll take three full-day paddling excursions in different parts of the Brändö archipelago, covering about 15–20 km per day. On Friday, upon arrival, we’ll take a shorter 2 - 3 hour paddle. Each day’s route and destination will be chosen according to the most favorable wind conditions.
The daily trips are designed for beginner paddlers who want to safely explore the unique Åland archipelago with a professional guide.
