Hinnøya and the Lofoten Islands – a sea kayaking adventure among Norway’s Northern coast.
Join us on an unforgettable paddling expedition through one of Northern Europe’s most breathtaking regions – the islands of Hinnøya and the Lofoten archipelago. This week-long journey takes you across dramatic coastal landscapes shaped by glaciers, wind, and waves. Towering mountains rise straight from the sea, white sandy beaches invite you to land your kayak, and the ever-changing light of the North creates a new view around every bend.
Our adventure begins on Hinnøya, Norway’s largest island, and ends among the world-famous Lofoten Islands. Over the course of several days, we’ll paddle through a network of fjords, channels, and open stretches of the North Atlantic, moving in rhythm with the tides. You don’t need prior experience in tidal waters – your experienced guide will teach you how to read the currents and navigate safely.
Each day offers a new experience: gliding past steep cliffs and small fishing villages, spotting sea eagles soaring above, and perhaps even seeing seals or porpoises in the distance. The soundscape is one of pure nature – the splash of your paddle, the call of seabirds, and the steady rush of the tide.
We’ll camp on remote beaches or grassy headlands, cook our meals together, and enjoy evenings by the sea under the northern sky. Depending on the season, you might experience the endless glow of the Midnight Sun, when daylight never fades, or the deep, magical colors of early autumn when the air turns crisp and the mountains are dusted with snow.
The journey is designed for paddlers with some kayaking experience who want to immerse themselves in Norway’s coastal wilderness in a safe, guided setting. This is not a race, but a slow exploration of nature – with time to breathe, observe, and feel the power of the North.
Schedule:
Day 1: Arrival on Hinnøya. We meet our group, check and organize our gear, and spend the night in a cozy cabin (included in the trip price).
Days 2–6: Kayaking expedition between Hinnøya and the Lofoten Islands. We camp in tents on scenic islands, following routes chosen according to weather and tides. Each day includes paddling, exploration, and relaxation in nature. The final night is spent indoors.
Day 7: Return journey and farewell – with salt in your hair, fresh memories in your mind, and perhaps a new love for the sea.
This trip is more than just a kayaking tour – it’s a journey into the wild heart of coastal Norway, where the mountains meet the ocean and time seems to stand still.
