Join us for a two-day kayaking adventure to Örö Island in the Archipelago National Park, one of Finland’s most spectacular archipelago destinations.
Örö offers a unique combination of nature, history, and tranquillity. The island features rugged shorelines, forests, meadows, and the open sea. It is a place where the incredible diversity of the Finnish archipelago truly comes to life.
Örö is also known for its rich flora, rare species, and excellent birdwatching opportunities. Several trails criss-cross the island, offering opportunities to explore both its natural beauty and fascinating history.
Historically, Örö has played a role in the defence of the Gulf of Finland since the 19th century. Remnants of old fortifications and military structures can still be found on the island, making it a unique destination where nature and history intertwine.
Our starting and finishing point is the archipelago village of Rosala, approximately a three-hour journey from Helsinki. Rosala is located near the Archipelago National Park, which was established in 1983.
This trip is suitable for kayakers with previous sea kayaking experience who want to venture beyond sheltered waters and explore more exposed archipelago routes with the support of an experienced guide.
We will spend approximately 5 - 6 hours kayaking each day, leaving plenty of time for setting up camp, preparing meals, and enjoying the peaceful atmosphere of the island.
Örö also offers the option of using a sauna, staying indoors, and dining at the island’s restaurant. For more information, visit www.visitoro.fi.
