Kayaking in Linnansaari Nationalpark. 18 - 20.6.2027

One of the most beautiful areas of Finland’s Lake District is Linnansaari National Park, with its hundreds of islands and rocky islets.

We will paddle our kayaks through this unique landscape, home to the endangered Saimaa ringed seal and the rare white-backed woodpecker. The area is also home to Finland’s largest osprey population. Ospreys are among Finland’s largest birds of prey. As we explore this wildlife habitat, we will move carefully and respectfully through the natural environment. With a little luck, we may encounter some of these magnificent and rare animals along the way.

Slash-and-burn farming was practised in Linnansaari for centuries, which is why deciduous trees dominate much of the landscape, creating beautiful green scenery. During our trip, we will also have time to visit an old forest ranger’s cottage, where the surrounding land is still managed using traditional methods.

We will travel at a relaxed pace and enjoy the tranquillity of the lake and its islands. Anyone who has tried kayaking before is welcome to join us.

You can also travel from Helsinki together with the guide.
