Tafjordfjell & Reinheimen National Park. 9 - 15.8.2024.

Reinheimen is the largest untouched fell area in southern Norway. The highest mountains are more than 2000 meters above sea level. To the west of the national park, in the Tafjordfjella mountains, the terrain is steeper and there are marked hiking trails and mountain huts.

A large part of the original mountain ecosystem has been preserved in the national park, there are wild reindeer, wolverines, sea eagles, hawks and grouse. Reinheimen has a particularly rich cultural remains related to wild reindeer hunting, such as trap pits and ruins of trappers' residential areas.

It is easy to get to the excursion directly from Oslo by bus.

Program:
Day 1. Bus to Grotli. We will spend the night in a hotel.
Day 2. First hiking day. We hike to the DNT Danskehytte mountain hut. 12 km. About 6-7 hours. 600-700m up.
Day 3. We hike to the Reindalsseter lodge, a large accommodation at the bottom of the valley surrounded by large fells. 12km 6h. 150m up - 800m down.
Day 4. We continue to DNT: Veltdalshytten mountainhut. We spend two nights at the hut. 10km 5h. 600m up.
Day 5. We make a day trip to one of the peaks in the area. Possibly Tordsnose (1975m) 12km. 8h. 900 meters high.
Day 6. The last day of hiking. Destination is Billingen, where we stay in a nice old inn and have a well-deserved dinner together. 20 km. 7 h. 150m up - 600m down.
Day 7. Bus directly to the airport.
