Kayaking and hiking in Europe's largest wilderness

Padjelanta (Badjelánnda) National Park is part of Lapponia, Europe's largest continuous natural landscape in Lapland, Sweden, where nature has remained virtually untouched. In 1996, Laponia became a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Padjelanta is famous for its beautiful lake scenery and diverse nature. The area is home to, among other things, white-tailed eagle, wolverine and a large number of beautiful mountain plants. By kayaking we can explore the westernmost part of the park, near the Norwegian border. From our camps we make day hikes to the peaks of the area. In the summer, Fiskeflyget maintains a helicopter route to the Staloluokta Sami settlements. We fly to Staloluokta, where we start kayaking on the large Lake Virihávree.
