Course and tour levels

In order for you to feel comfortable and get the most out of your course it is important to have the right level of experience and fitness for the activity you have chosen to take part in.

The descriptions should give you a fair idea of how physically demanding the tour or course will be.

Mountain walking

Beginners: We will be carrying a light rucksack (5-8 kg) and the hiking days will be short in duration. No lengthy and steep sections.

Intermediate: A good general fitness level. We will be carrying a 8-15 kg rucksack for 6-8 hours per day with a few days consisting of sustained ascents over passes or mountaintops.

Advanced: A good general fitness level. We will be doing several long and consecutive days with major variations in altitude. Previous experience of mountain walking is an requirement.
